A little about Powell Farms

Hi and welcome! We are Josh and Lacy Powell the owners of Powell Farms with our little boy Lane. This operation is a family farm that has been around since 1958 when Josh’s great grandfather started it. Making us the fourth generation! We are a cow-calf operation that provides direct to consumer Angus beef in Northwest GA.

Josh was born and raised on Powell Farms and graduated from Kennesaw State with an Engineering Degree, but his passion has always been farming, so in 2013 he took over the family farm and has been running the operation for the last 10 years. Lacy grew up about 2 hours away and went to ABAC, UGA, and Auburn where she graduated with her Agriculture Education degrees. Taking an Ag teaching job in Calhoun, GA in 2016 led us to meeting each other in 2017. We were married in 2019 and welcomed our sweet little red head boy in 2021 and are now expecting another sweet boy in February.

Primarily our farm has been a cow-calf operation for generations focusing on raising pre-conditioned calves to sell. In 2023 we made the decision to raise and feed steers to sell direct to consumer beef. This started with us selling quarters, halves, and wholes and grew into us selling the beef by the cut from our farm. So now you can come visit us on the farm and buy beef from steers that were grown right here. Whether you want to purchase a whole steer of beef or just a ribeye steak we offer it all!
